Together Quality Grows

...through ECERS/ ITERS/ FCCERS

in Adams, Clark, Langlade, Lincoln, Marathon, Marquette, Portage, Taylor, Waushara and Wood Counties

CCR&R of Central Wisconsin and Child Care Connection are excited to announce funding from the WI Department of Children and Families (through the Supporting Families Together Association) and Community Foundation of Greater South Wood County to support a quality improvement effort which focuses on enhanced technical assistance. This program will provide environmental rating and technical assistance through the Environment Rating Scales (revised editions) - Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale (ECERS); Infant/Toddler Environment Rating Scale (ITERS) and Family Child Care Environment Rating Scale (FCCERS). This funding allows us to work with several family and group child care programs within our 10-county service area. We are also seeking additional local funding in some communities and may be able to work with additional programs.

Participating programs would receive pre and post assessments using the applicable Environment Rating Scale and several on-site technical assistance visits working with a CCR&R consultant to develop improvement plans and discuss ways to improve the overall quality of your child care program. CCR&Rs will also be administering mini-grants to help with purchasing materials or resources needed in moving toward your quality improvement goals.


Criteria used in choosing child care programs include:

• County
• Type of care
• Urban or rural
• Program with a track record of motivation for quality improvement
• Stability and longevity of program and staff (must have been providing care for at least 3 years) and plan on remaining in business for at least 2 years
• Must have a stable director in place Centers with little turnover of staff
• Number of children on subsidy or special needs Centers without serious non-compliances
